WHO: Fact sheets on HIV/AIDS

These materials are designed to be adapted for use at national or sub-regional level. They give general information and their target audiences are nurses and midwives nevertheless, they will be useful for other health workers and for other professionals such as teachers, pharmacists and community workers. Evaluation sheets also available. An excellent resource for teaching.

National AIDS Trust (NAT)

The National Aids Trust works on policy research and campaigning to improve the UK's prevention efforts and the quality of life of people with HIV/AIDS. NAT publishes regular research and recommendations on HIV services, as well as a quarterly policy bulletin which highlights unmet needs and best practice to professionals in the field. This excellent site is suitable for people with HIV, community organisations and professionals. It contains information about the epidemic (a global profile), community action, and research from the international HIV/AIDS alliance, medical testing and new technologies. It also discusses access to treatment and suggests a toolkit for community organisations.

This is a leading HIV & AIDS charity in the UK and in Europe. It is the largest provider of direct services to the groups most affected by HIV - gay men and UK African communities. Information for health professionals.
