The African Well Woman's Clinic at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital

This unit was set up to meet the needs of a growing population of women who have experienced female genital mutilation. The clinic works within the antenatal clinic on the Guy's Site, providing support, advice, counselling and information to women who have been circumcised, and offers appropriate referral. The African Women’s Clinic: for women who have undergone female genital mutilation

The African Women’s Clinic was started by Miss Sarah Creighton, Consultant Gynaecologist in 2002 to provide care and support for pregnant & non- pregnant women who are experiencing problems as a result of female genital mutilation (FGM) to discuss their health needs in a culturally sensitive and non-judgmental environment.
